Tape.sh is your goto screen recording & collaborating tool for teams. Well, we aren’t done yet because I have good news for you. Loom is billed as a freemium service, with paid versions starting at $96 per year. They are focused on the team collaboration and sales markets. The difference between Loom and CloudApp or Droplr is that Loom forces you to use your Webcam. It bills itself as a must-have for distributed teams. Ok, guess we are going to talk about screen recording focused tools now, and what comes to mind is the very excellent tool Loom or. It works out to be about $11 per month for a pretty similar offering from other services that are up to $5 cheaper per month. ![]() is a freemium service with paid version starting at $10 / month. SnagIt is $49 once and $12.50 per year for upgrades. They also own and run the website where you will be sharing things. The addition of video editing features was a major selling feature, but I am not certain if it is anymore. This software has been around for a very long time and has a following of dedicated fans. SnagIt from TechSmith is worth mentioning. Both of these apps are focused on screenshot and screen recording for an organization. Droplr starts at $7 per month, and CloudApp is free to start and paid plans start at $9 per month. If you are a SetApp user, the 1 GB Cloud Storage version is included in your subscription.ĬloudApp and Droplr are both worth considering. For $96 per year, you get unlimited cloud storage and some additional features that you may need. Wait, let me just show you.ĬleanShot X with 1 GB of Cloud Storage is $29 once and an optional $19 per year. Some additional nice-to-have features like OCR text capture, the ability to hide desktop icons is just great. Lots of control over ‘what happens’ and ‘when’ in Preferences? Check, check and check. You want Annotations? You want a quick, shareable URL? You get them both. It’s by far the best app I’ve come across to get those clean screenshots and recordings you always want. CleanShot X has quickly become one of my most used apps that fits into just about any workflow. Unfortunately, there is not an open-source equivalent of ShareX for macOS.ĬleanShot X for Mac has entered the chat. It is worth noting that Zappy is in early access as of writing this article, but both of these will take screenshots and allow for annotation on macOS. ![]() Zapier has Zappy and Evernote has Skitch. There are a few Apps that add many additional features and make it much easier. Super easy to remember when you are on that call needing to take a screenshot and think to yourself what are those damn commands again? There has to be a better way. ![]()
